F150 HeritageThe 2004 Ford F-150 Heritage is one of the great moments in marketing from the guys in Dearborn. You have to hand it to them: instead of calling this the ‘Ford F-150 Leftover’, they came up with the ‘Heritage’ moniker to make these pickups sound classy.

To be honest, the ‘04 F150 Heritage is actually a good deal for bargain-conscious buyers. What happened is that it was easier and more cost-effective for Ford to switch production gradually over to the redesigned 2004 Ford F-150. In order to differentiate the ‘old-style’ F150s that were still being produced in 2004, Ford created the one-off ‘Heritage’ brand.

2004 Shelby CobraThe new Ford Shelby Cobra concept marks the latest step in the next evolution of Ford concept vehicles, with an evocative design, bonafide performance credentials and thanks to engineering as nimble and efficient as a sports car a level of feasibility that is already close to production-level.

The Ford Shelby Cobra concept team drew heavily on the Ford GT production car especially the space frame and suspension to maximize efficiencies. Although the cars have vastly different characters and different dimensions, smart engineering quickly adapted the rear-mid-engine Ford GT platform to this front-mid-engine application.

2004 F-150 XLTThe Ford F-150 is the most important and most profitable vehicle that Ford makes. With nearly 900,000 annual sales, the F-150 has been the best-selling vehicle in America for 21 consecutive years. They have decided to throw away the old formula and create a brand new F-150 from the ground up.

Ford admits the new F-150 is bigger, heavier, and more expensive to build than the wildly successful previous version. It is also the best-handling, quietest, most car-like full-size pickup truck in the history of the world. All of the new F-150 models feature all-new interiors that show attention to detail. The seats vary, but all are comfortable and supportive. Ford says the F-150 will be sold at competitive prices, model for model, against the traditional American as well as the new Japanese competition.

The 2004 Ford Mustang is offered in the following trims: Base Standard, Deluxe and Premium; GT Deluxe and Premium; Mach 1; and Cobra. The 2004 Ford Mustang continues to be offered as a two-door coupe and a two-door convertible. Not the biggest cars out there, Mustangs seat four.

2004 Ford RangerBuilt Ford tough like all trucks from the manufacturer, the compact Ranger is nice, rugged little pickup. The 2004 Ford Ranger has a new look that reshapes its front end for a more prominent appearance. That, plus improved ride features and new equipment, highlight the changes for this year.

Rangers come in regular-cab and extended SuperCab body styles. SuperCabs are available with back-hinged rear doors. Regular cabs use a 6 or 7-ft straightside cargo bed; SuperCabs get a 6-ft version. Regular cab Ranger models have a front bench seat and can sit up to three. With the extended cab, a rear seat compliments the rear doors, pushing the seating up to five.
